Just a quick note to say thanks to all involved in yet another brilliant Gala. It was simply superb.
Having spent my early years  in Guildford during the 50’s & 60’s but now living too far away to be actively involved in the Mid Hants, our occasional visits never fail to bring back all those childhood memories.
I attach a couple of photos taken on Sunday at Medstead.

Hi Tony
I had a great time at the Big 4, is it too late to send in photos for the event?
I still feel as though the Mid Hants is my local, even though I travel 80+ miles both ways to attend. There are plenty of photographic view points of the engines and line.

Hi Tony
As you can see from this photo, it was a lucky day for me on Sat 13th, and I thought I’d share this one with you.
My son, James (5yrs) and I had a great day at the Mid Hants

Tony
A few photos of the goods train arriving at Alton Friday 12th Sept 2008 behind Wadebridge but, by my being a bit wagon biased, the loco is incidental to the scene!
Friday also saw the début in service of CCT S 1765 S, as a colourful added attraction to passenger trains during the gala. This vehicle was rescued from the former Brighton Pullman Car works at Preston Park in 1995 and, after being used for storage for some time, has been restored at Medstead over the past eighteen months. Many thanks to MHR Alresford Traincare for the overhaul of the vacuum brake system which now enables it to be attached to passenger trains from time to time.

Hello Tony
We would like to pass our thanks to everybody at MHR for a superb day at the Big Four Gala. Excellent day. 4936/5029 was certainly the highlight for us. Philip was very happy that two GW engines seem to have survived most of a MHR gala without significant problems!
As we've had problems with large files in the past I've uploaded some video clips to YouTube:  http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=uEE0n-dFLrc
Once again many thanks for a really excellent gala.
Best regards
Nigel and Philip Wilson

Dear Tony (and all at the Watercress Line)
Just wanted to thank you for a wonderful day on Friday 12th Sept.  It's my father's eightieth birthday in a few weeks and as part of the celebrations we visted the Watercress Line to see and ride on the trains. We were both extremely impressed with how well all the Stations are kept, and seeing the trains brought back some very happy memories of the days of steam for Dad. Here are a few photos of the day. I really like the one of the Station Staff at Ropley, perhaps you can pass this on to them.
Thanks again
Steve Hancock

Hi Tony
Please thank all your staff and volunteers for a great day out on Sunday: the last time I rode behind a A4 was years ago and brought back happy memories.
It's one thing having a model, but you can never replace the real thing, the smells, the noise: wonderful.
Bob
